Complete Bible
The first edition was known as The Clear Word Bible (see covers below); this was changed to The Clear Word in the second edition. Language was also added to describe the version as an "interpretive paraphrase". This was done in response to criticisms that claimed that The Clear Word was not a Bible, but a commentary. More details can be found in the articles "Do We Now Have an Adventist Bible?" and “GC Comments on Clear Word Bible” in the October 15, 1994 and October 29, 1994 issues of the Record (this is the official publication of the South Pacific Division of Seventh-Day Adventists).

Children's edition
The Kids and Easy English editions of The Clear Word are intended for children and those learning English, respectively. There are three differences between these editions and the regular edition of The Clear Word. Genealogies are limited to the names readers recognize; accounts of wars and evil events are abridged. Unfamiliar names and locations are replaced by pronouns in the children's edition.
